QUOTES

Even in medicine, though it is easy to know what honey, wine and hellebore, cautery and surgery are, to know how and to whom and when to apply them so as to effect a cure is no less an undertaking than to be a [veterinarian].

Aristotle, 384-322 BC

Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.

Mariah Carey, CPB (crazy psycho bitch)

Keep your wits about you.

Dr. Wally Cash, DVM

Work twice as hard and expect half as much.

Dr. Dan's Dad, both DVMs

Don't be screwin' around, you don't have the genetic potential.

What Dr. Dan's Dad said to Dr. Dan when he went to college.

I'd rather have a terrorist standing next to me than a Frenchman. (~15 min. later) Oh, I forgot about that, that's another reason I don't like the French, they eat horses.

Dr. Dee Griffin, DVM

In the book of life there's only two women, big ol' good ones and good ol' big ones.

Ice Cube, HipHopper

A virus can be useful to a species by thinning it out.

Dr. Karl Johnson, MD

Be a virus and travel the World! Free of ticket!

Dr. Sanjay Kapil, DVM

Now you can either stand around here eatin' jambalaya or you can come upstairs and eat my ass!

Brian Kinney, QAF Hottie!

I'm a McGriddle away from this being the best morning of my life.

Artie Lang, OCCG (overweight comedian, compulsive gambler)

Our scars have the power to remind us that the past was real.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter, CFB

No amount of genius can overcome a preoccupation with detail.

Marion Levy Jr, PhD

It's better to burp and bear the shame than not to burp and bear the pain.

Grandpa Martin, RIP

Well, I want to try everything in life.

When I gotta poop, I gotta poop.

Heather Rose Martin, CFG (crazy freak girl)

It gets right ugly.

Dr. Patricia A. Payne, DVM

If the present sucks, then look to the future.

I'm just here to be a person.

Rob Reed, Brainiac

If you eat your dog, make sure it is well cooked.

Peter Schantz, DVM Division of Parasitic Diseases CDC

Inch by inch life's a cinch, yard by yard life gets hard.

Dr. Steve Swaim, DVM

Think about it. Sometimes people are just destined, destined to do, what they do. And that's what it is. Now everybody dance.

Justin Timberlake, Hottie!

Have you been watching the new Fear Factors?

I've kinda caught the last two episodes of Psycho Fear Factor. It's really hard for TV to keep my attention. I have plenty of shows I like to watch but I end up getting distracted and reading things or posting things or cleaning and then I miss stuff so I don't really know what's happening. Waste of time usually. Anyway the contestants are staying in the 'Bates Motel.' Sounds great huh? There was a shower scene tonite w/ blood coming out of the shower and the girls were handcuffed to the shower head and the boys had to rescue them w/ axes and at the end when they were done w/ the stunts they went back to the motel, where they are all living together in like one big nasty room, and big cockroaches started spewing from the wall, then it ended. I think I would have loved to be on these episodes, there's one left next week, the $250,000 finale, I love scary stuff like that and would think it's cool so I'd be boring and not ridiculous like the other girls.

I had to run home from school today

After another kinda slow day in equine, though we did have our first real surgery, a PD neurectomy, though it's a very simple surgery, my scooter wouldn't start. Not even with a 'righteous' kickstart. (Dr. Lillich uses that word a lot. He's an equine surgeon.) I really gave that kickstarter my all. So instead I thought I'd give it some time to figure itself out and go to the rec and run. I had a good workout w/ some inclines on the treadmill and a little speedwork on the indoor track. Didn't want to do too much since I did the 2.5 hrs. on Sunday. I just did a short 4 miles and then went back to the school to try my scooter again. Wouldn't start. So I ran home. Let my warm winter coat at school and put what I needed in my backpack and just ran w/ the backpack. It was a bit uncomfortable as it was moving a little too much but it only took 15 min. That brought my running for today to 5.5 miles, even better. So tomorrow morning instead of riding my bike, I think I'll run. It's cold enough out that I can probably shower and all beforehand and even running to school I won't be too sweaty. Then I'll get in an extra 15 min. and I won't have to deal w/ leaving my bike at school, assuming my scooter starts tomorrow night to get me home. It's not the ideal situation but it's a short run so I think it's worth it.
