QUOTES

Even in medicine, though it is easy to know what honey, wine and hellebore, cautery and surgery are, to know how and to whom and when to apply them so as to effect a cure is no less an undertaking than to be a [veterinarian].

Aristotle, 384-322 BC

Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.

Mariah Carey, CPB (crazy psycho bitch)

Keep your wits about you.

Dr. Wally Cash, DVM

Work twice as hard and expect half as much.

Dr. Dan's Dad, both DVMs

Don't be screwin' around, you don't have the genetic potential.

What Dr. Dan's Dad said to Dr. Dan when he went to college.

I'd rather have a terrorist standing next to me than a Frenchman. (~15 min. later) Oh, I forgot about that, that's another reason I don't like the French, they eat horses.

Dr. Dee Griffin, DVM

In the book of life there's only two women, big ol' good ones and good ol' big ones.

Ice Cube, HipHopper

A virus can be useful to a species by thinning it out.

Dr. Karl Johnson, MD

Be a virus and travel the World! Free of ticket!

Dr. Sanjay Kapil, DVM

Now you can either stand around here eatin' jambalaya or you can come upstairs and eat my ass!

Brian Kinney, QAF Hottie!

I'm a McGriddle away from this being the best morning of my life.

Artie Lang, OCCG (overweight comedian, compulsive gambler)

Our scars have the power to remind us that the past was real.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter, CFB

No amount of genius can overcome a preoccupation with detail.

Marion Levy Jr, PhD

It's better to burp and bear the shame than not to burp and bear the pain.

Grandpa Martin, RIP

Well, I want to try everything in life.

When I gotta poop, I gotta poop.

Heather Rose Martin, CFG (crazy freak girl)

It gets right ugly.

Dr. Patricia A. Payne, DVM

If the present sucks, then look to the future.

I'm just here to be a person.

Rob Reed, Brainiac

If you eat your dog, make sure it is well cooked.

Peter Schantz, DVM Division of Parasitic Diseases CDC

Inch by inch life's a cinch, yard by yard life gets hard.

Dr. Steve Swaim, DVM

Think about it. Sometimes people are just destined, destined to do, what they do. And that's what it is. Now everybody dance.

Justin Timberlake, Hottie!

It was a success!

Anne and Me

I met Anne tonite and her parents and her dog. She left me a message this afternoon saying they got into town early and asked if I wanted to go to dinner. I called her back and I suggested we meet at the So Long Saloon for dinner. She mentioned she would be w/ her parents and that was funny to me because for some reason I assumed she was coming w/ a husband and she was older, not real old but older than me. Turns out she graduated in 2003 I think she said. She also mentioned I could bring a friend so I called Jen to see if she wanted to come and she said that was fine but she had to work also so she might have to leave early. She ended up bringing James too, I'm surprised he wanted to come to meet some complete strangers from Chicago but he could give them the Kansas resident perspective. So we met outside the place and I told her I'd be in a bright orange jacket and she said she had a black peacoat so I saw her outside w/ her mother. He father was parking the motor home I later found out. So her father arrived, James was inside getting a table and we all introduced ourselves. Then we went in and got a table. I was sitting between James and Anne's father and Jen was next to Anne so I really couldn't hear their conversation necessarily, so sometimes I was just talking to her dad. They were all really nice and wanting to know all about vet school at KSU and living in Manhattan. I'm glad Jen and James were there, like I said they knew Manhattan better than I did and lived in Kansas forever. Thanks James and Jen for coming with me!! Anne's parents ordered us a couple appetizers and it was hard to eat because we were talking so much. I went through tons of Diet Pepsi. I had a burger for dinner and was the last one to finish because I was talking so much. Anne's father had already ordered this 7 layer chocolate cake for the table to split and I still had half a burger to finish. There was still dessert left though by the time I finished and Anne's father made sure to put it in front of me. Jen had to leave early though, before we got our entrees but James stayed and helped me entertain. It was really a very good time. I hope I gave Anne an accurate account of what vet school is like in general, specific things good and bad about KSU and life in Manhattan. After dinner, which her parents paid for, Thank You!!, we went to their motor home which was parked in a lot down the street. That's where we met their dog who was waiting inside. She was very sweet! We continued to talk about vet school and their adventures sailing or in France and eventually James took off. Very interesting people with lots of cool stories. It was almost 10pm before I left so we spent 3.5 hrs together. At the end they drove me home in the motor home and I had her father take our picture. They were going to park on the street near City Park for the night. Anne's interview isn't until Sunday so I'm not sure what they're doing tomorrow but I told her to call anytime if she needed anything and of course to let me know if she gets in and that I'll be looking for a roommate if she's interested.

Well I just finished the book

I had to look up this author's credentials to see what he knew about this stuff. Not what I was expecting, a PhD in English but I guess he has an interest. Well now I need to go to bed. I'll work on the paper tomorrow. Goodnight! losers :0)
